Catherine is one of our Keynote Speakers at the Single Mums Business Network Conference on September 11th in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire; the event is open to all. Its purpose is to support Single Mums who are fighting for family and financial independence, and to reduce stigma and misconceptions.
Catherine started her Virtual Assistant business while still employed, with a daughter at college, no pension and no savings.
Mad, or brave?
Catherine shares her journey in her award winning bestselling book, How to be a Virtual Assistant, which was written to help others break free from the restraints of employment and enjoy their working life.
It’s not been without its ups and down, which Catherine will openly share on the day.
Join Catherine at this event and be inspired and reassured that you too can achieve the life you deserve.
When she’s not running her own business, writing her second book and speaking at events she is also supporting other VAs in their business with her online membership and regularly features in the media to raise the profile of Virtual Assistants; including Forbes, The Guardian and iNews.

The Conference promises to be an uplifting day of information, advice and inspiration. The Single Mums Business Network is to support women (in a non charitable way) who have found themselves alone with their children & solo income. They need maximum exposure with minimum PR cost.
Whether you are married, single, widowed, divorced, or know somebody who is in this boat, this event is well worth attending.
It is SO important to know that there is a specialist network if you end up alone. Because it’s hard to figure out what to do. I have a couple of members who were happily married less than a year ago and by no fault of their own they are now fighting as single mums..
We have to banish stigma and preconceptions about what a single mum is, we are all women, we love our children and are hardworking. There are just some unique challenges.
Tickets are £20 and includes a light lunch and refreshements. When you arrive at 10:45 a.m you can get a drink and take a seat for prompt start at 11am
The Schedule is as follows:
10:45 – Doors open – arrival and coffee.
11:00 – 11:20 – Welcome from Julie Hawkins
11:20 – Jackie Groundsell – Networking Icebreaker
11:40 – Catherine Gladwyn – Single Mum to Best Selling Author and Virtual Assistant
12:00 – Lucinda D’ Gore – Solicitor specialising in Benefit Fraud – Common Mistakes to Avoid
12:30 – Coffee & Lunch
1pm – Cara Sayer – Founder Snooze Shade – Make It * Market It * Sell It
1:30 – Fiona Scott – Be seen in the press / Things the Press hate
1:50 – Close Julie Hawkins
If you need to leave early to travel home for school run that’s OKAY!
At 2pm we have an open networking hour for local women in business to come and say hi to me and Jackie Groundsell, who will be there all day.
There are a maximum 50 delegates so it will be a nice intimate affair, just a nice, relaxed, girly day!
MEMBERS are FREE – as this is included in annual membership of £60… (please make sure you pay if you’re not a paid up member! as much as I’d love to buy you lunch!)
You don’t have to be a single mum to be a member, you can be a ‘friend of the SMBN’ – see website for details. It’s all about AFFORDABLE EXPOSURE
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
