I never know when ladies join the SMBN if they are doing it to support others, or whether they are doing it because they need support. I don’t ask. It has always been very important to me that every woman feels equal in the Single Mums Business Network. Nobody has to declare adversity for subsidised fees, and nobody pays more for supporting us. We are just women, at various stages of business, employment, or unemployment, all chipping in, to support and be supported.

When Laura joined the SMBN in 2019, I could not have imagined how supportive she would be. She has offered guidance, coaching, she always wants to find ways to support me and my other members, and I have a had a front row seat as she has expanded her own business, and supported so many families through such a difficult year. She not only won the Family Employer of the Year category 2020, she has now pledged her support for the 2021 Awards by sponsoring the same category. Membership fees are so low for the SMBN, at only £5pcm, and without any charitable status or Grant support, outside of my own income I am cannot express my gratitude for sponsors enough.

This year I was able to not only give winners trophies and finalists certificates, I was also able to give away a bunch of fantastic prizes, some donated and some purchased, including Spa Days, Helicopter Rides, and National TV Award Tickets!

2021 Nominations are OPEN

2021 categories are:

Overcoming Adversity, Best Collaborator, Instagram Influencer, Best Blog, Single Mums Support Facilitator, Best Coach, Best Mentor, Super Start-up, Community Champion, Excellence in Customer Care, Innovator of the Year, Campaigner of the Year, Kindness Award of the Year, Employee of the Year, Role Model of the Year, Uncategorised nominee (you know somebody (or you) deserves an award but none of these categories sum it up!

You can nominate HERE – we have already seen some fantastic nominations, please don’t do a two line entry, you are telling a stranger all about you – even if I know your journey – there’s a GOOD chance I won’t be judging your category!

Awards are free to enter. Entries handed to Judges in April (Deadline 23rd March) Finalists will be announced on May 23rd 2021 and the 2021 Awards Ceremony will be on Saturday 23rd October at 5pm. Please save the date!
